Recreational Program

Recreational classes are an introduction to gymnastics as a sport. In these classes we focus on the fun, fitness and fundamentals of gymnastics. We offer classes for children age 2 and up. Come and join one our classes and have fun learning and exploring  gymnastics in a safe environment with a NCCP Certified Coach.

Exelta Gymnastics Club requires all families of recreational participants in a class that are 1 hour or more per week, to work one Cleaning Bee per session, up to a maximum of 2 cleaning bees/ year( year runs Sept to June).

A $125 deposit is required at the time of registration, in the form of a cheque or credit card number,  which will be returned when you work your shift.

Sign up sheets are posted in the hallway to the Playschool Room and you responsible for signing up and attending your time.

All participants are encouraged to help with ongoing club fundraising to assist with keeping club costs affordable!

Details on our Classes

Pre-School Classes

Parent and Tot - ages 2-3  ( In a group setting, your child learns how to socialize while learning the basics of gymnastics)

Jumping Beans - age 3 ( Unparented class, where your child will gain independance while learning  gymnastics in a safe environment)

Cimbing Monkeys -  age 4 ( Your child  is having fun while learning the progressions of gymnastic skills)

Active Start - age 5 (Can gym badges begin)

Recreational Classes - Ages 6 & up

Beginner Girls - ages 6 + ( In this beginner level class your child will begin working on the first 3 levels Can Gym badge program)

Beginner Girls  - ages 9 + ( In this beginner level class your child will begin working on the first 3 levels of the Can Gym badge program)

Novice Girls - ages 6 + ( In this class your child will work on badges from the bronze badge to blue badge)

Intermediate / Advanced Girls - ages 6 + ( In this advanced class your child will work on Turquoise badge and beyond)

Beginner Boys - ages 6+ ( In this beginner level class your child will begin working on the first 3 levels of the Can Gym badge program)

Beginner Boys - ages 9+ ( In this beginner level class your child will begin working on the first 3 levels of the Can Gym badge program)

Novice / Intermediate Boys - ages 6 + ( In this class your child will work on badges from the bronze badge to blue badge)

Trampoline Classes - Ages 6 & up

Beginner T&T - ages 6 + ( In this beginner level trampoline and tumbling course your child will begin working on the first 3 steps of the Can Jump program)

Intermediate / Advanced T&T - ages 6 + ( In this intermediate level course your child will work at completing steps 4-6)

Teen Classes - Ages 12 +

Teen Class- ages 12+ ( In this class your teen can develop  in all levels, and choose what skills they would like to learn and improve on)

** All female classes ages 9 and up are required to wear a bodysuit in the gym. Bodysuits can be purchased at Exelta or various dance stores in Red Deer.
